I've started meditating recently and I cannot recommend it enough. My last post was about finding space with a quiet mind. Meditation will help you focus and shed the distractions. I'm using an app. There's a popular one that offers a free year, it's quite pricey after that, not sure what I'll do when that happens but until then it's 15 minutes per day, you can do less I started with 3, 4-5 days a week and I feel MUCH more grounded. I can't explain it, really. I'm not doing any special work in the sessions, not trying extra hard and in fact, because I do it before bedtime, I'm often sleepy and not even in the proper position.
It's been three or four weeks and I feel so much more present. Distractions are still around, of course, but they're not important and I don't spend time on them. I check social media to see if there are notifications and as soon as I scroll i think, "wow, this is a waste of time" and I stop. There are four or five important things I need to do in my life and I'm able to make efforts only towards those ends. Again, not really sure how or why, but I can certainly feel it. I've always had the motivation, just not the focus. It's easy to get sidetracked or get into something simpler than any sort of necessary work. I still have breaks, time spent chillin, but even those are focused and meaningful, and then I get some more tasks done towards my goals. I cannot recommend it enough.
Now I'm going to dig out my reflexology sandals and put those into my daily routine. I'll let you know how that works.
